Adding a Group to a Matrix to Create Subtotals

Let’s say you have a Matrix with Column Group of YearMonth (201201 for January) and Row Groups of Station and Shift.  There are four stations including 1A, 1B, 1C and 1D.  The Shift group has three values which are “7am – 3pm”, “3pm – 12am” and “12am – 7am”.  The Matrix Sums the Count of Employees.

You want to create another group in the matrix that will subtotal the Employees by Shift.  Create another group in your matrix by right clicking after the field you are attempting to group on (Shift) and select “Add Group = > Adjacent Below”.  Select the field you want to Group on (Shift) and then OK.  This will create another grouping for Shift and sum all values from all Stations by Shift.  You can also move the Subtotal names (in the last three rows) over to the second column as well.
